Lisianthus is a graceful flower, often called the prairie rose for its rose-like flowers. The ruffled, cup-shaped blooms in soft, delicate colours look wonderful in the garden and last long in a vase. Plant it in a sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil and good air circulation. Water at the base of the plant, avoid wetting the leaves, and remove spent flowers so that new buds keep opening. Perfect for pots, flower beds and home-grown bouquets.
